The first page is my cover design for our school brochure, a guidebook for school-wide teacher training. The elements might look fictional, but I hid a lot in there. Here are just some examples:
1.The tree I drew is actually a portrait of our signature old heather tree, making this cover uniquely JJL!
2.A book, soccer ball, paintbrush, and telescope popped out from the tree, symbolizing how teachers help us with academics, and also support our extra-curricular interests.
3.The flower pot the tree grew from is also a house--teachers make classrooms our second home.
4.The beautiful whale symbolizes our fantastic teachers, who can accommodate different views and dreams and guide us on a voyage in the boundless sky above the clouds!
The following pages are my interior illustrations for the book, including funny and warm moments of everyday teacher-student interaction. There are a lot of inside jokes, but I tried to create comics that everyone can laugh at while reading!
This project took me a whole month of perfectionism late into the night, but it's totally worth it! I hope you can enjoy them too~
